Jason Ward graduated from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Geology) (1991) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Science / Maths) (1992). Jason has over 15 years geological exploration experience from project generation and grass roots exploration through to resource drilling. He has explored for a variety of commodities and deposit types including; Porphyry copper-gold and high and low sulphidation type epithermal systems, lead-zinc deposits in Proterozoic terrains, Iron-Oxide |
copper-gold mineralisation in Proterozoic terrains, VMS (Volcanogenic massive sulfide) copper-gold deposits, as well as onshore petroleum exploration.
Jason has worked in Australia, the South West Pacific (PNG, Fiji, New Caledonia), South America, Sweden, Laos and the Middle East. He has been based working in Solomon Islands for Solomon Gold plc for the past seven years and is very experienced working in a wide range of geographic terrains including deserts, tropical jungles, high altitudes and the arctic; as well working with people from a diverse range of cultures. As well as English, Jason is fluent in Spanish and Melanesian Pijin, the common local Solomon Island language.
