Malcolm Norris is a senior mining industry professional with extensive experience in mineral exploration, the development of new business opportunities, and asset transactions. Previous roles have covered a wide range of commodities, geographic locations, and the management of global portfolios of projects – in both large and small organizations. Malcolm recently led the team which discovered the Tujuh Bukit copper-gold porphyry project for ASX listed Intrepid Mines Ltd (2006 – 2011). |
Prior to joining Intrepid (which evolved from the merger of Intrepid Mines and Emperor Mines), Malcolm held the position of General Manager – Exploration and Business Development at Indophil Resources, and prior to that held senior positions with WMC Resources including, among others, the roles of Group Manager – Exploration (2003 – 2005), General Manager – Global Exploration Manager – Gold (2001 – 2002) and several years as Country Manager for WMC Resources in the Philippines.
Mr Norris’ impressive previous exploration and management experience, together with the Tujuh Bukit discovery, provides Solomon Gold with a particularly relevant and significant set of skills and experience to take the Company forward. As the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, his appointment aligns with the Company’s strong commitment to the discovery and development of high value gold and copper-gold deposits.
A graduate of the Camborne School of Mines in the UK, Alex has over twenty-three years experience in production, consulting and the corporate environment within the mining industry. His career has taken him across the world in an operational, technical, consulting and corporate capacity. Having started his career in South Africa working in both underground and open pit gold and platinum mines, Alex moved into consulting which involved working on projects in Africa, Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and the former Soviet Union. Alex also has extensive experience in both Australia and Asia Pacific, including Fiji and Papua New Guinea, where his roles have included operational, exploration and corporate. |
As the Chief Operating Officer Alex works closely with the company's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer, with focus on managing the day-to-day affairs of the company and its various projects.

Wendy has solid business management experience through retail management (1992- 2000), and Property Management roles (2000-2005), including Senior Property Manager and Franchise Financial Administrator. Wendy has Diplomas in financial planning and applied corporate governance, and is currently completing a Bachelor of Business.

Wendy’s mining experience includes 6 years with Emperor Mines and Intrepid Mines (2006-2011) as Executive Assistant to the executive team, and a member of the executive team. This also included assistant company secretary responsibilities.
Wendy’s experience has involved significant exposure to TSX and ASX listing requirements and management of statutory obligations, and involvement in commercial transactions including merger and acquisitions. She has been involved in various project and business activities in Indonesia, Fiji, Argentina, Australia, Ecuador, and Canada. Her varied experience has also involved management of public relations and investor relations programs.

Jason Ward graduated from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Geology) (1991) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Science / Maths) (1992). Jason has over 15 years geological exploration experience from project generation and grass roots exploration through to resource drilling. He has explored for a variety of commodities and deposit types including; Porphyry copper-gold and high and low sulphidation type epithermal systems, lead-zinc deposits in Proterozoic terrains, Iron-Oxide |
copper-gold mineralisation in Proterozoic terrains, VMS (Volcanogenic massive sulfide) copper-gold deposits, as well as onshore petroleum exploration.
Jason has worked in Australia, the South West Pacific (PNG, Fiji, New Caledonia), South America, Sweden, Laos and the Middle East. He has been based working in Solomon Islands for Solomon Gold plc for the past seven years and is very experienced working in a wide range of geographic terrains including deserts, tropical jungles, high altitudes and the arctic; as well working with people from a diverse range of cultures. As well as English, Jason is fluent in Spanish and Melanesian Pijin, the common local Solomon Island language.

Neil Wilkins began his life in exploration as a 16 year old field hand for North Broken Hill in 1969 and became so impassioned by exploration that he commenced his degree at James Cook University the next year. Neil is a graduate of James Cook University and holds both a Bachelors Degree and Master of Science Degree – His dissertation was on the relationships between the high sulphidation and porphyry styles of mineralisation at Nena and Fieda in Papua New Guinea. Since his early academic life Neil has worked as Geological Manager for Carpentaria |
Exploration and Amoco in Queensland, Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea and ultimately held the role of Exploration Manager of the Pacific Islands exploration, reporting to the directors in the USA for Amoco until 1986.
Since that time Neil has worked in various parts of Australia, PNG, Mexico, and the USA and is currently the Group Exploration Manager in Australia.
Neil had a leading role in the 2 million ounce gold discovery at Gold Ridge, the discovery of the first major intersections at the Maggies Hays nickel – PGM deposit, and very recently, new discoveries in the form of sulphide nickel and sediment hosted gold deposits in Queensland.

Karl Schlobohm is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years experience across a wide range of industries and businesses. Karl brings a unique range of skills to Solomon Gold, including expertise in Corporate Governance, Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance and Corporate Taxation matters. Karl holds Undergraduate Degrees in Commerce and Economics, together with a Masters Degree in Taxation and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. |
Previously Karl has held contract positions as Company Secretary of the ASXlisted Linc Energy Limited, Agenix Limited, Discovery Metals Limited and Global Seafood Limited as well as acting as CFO for Discovery Metals Limited and Meridian Metals Limited. He currently holds the position of Chairman of Australasian Retail Media Group Limited.

Priy Jayasuriya is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in public practice with a broad knowledge over a number of industries. Priy has worked as a chartered accountant in Australia, Singapore and the United States of America and brings a range of expertise in the areas of due diligence, internal control, corporate governance, international financial reporting and statutory compliance. Priy commenced his career with Ernst & Young and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Queensland and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. |
Priy has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, with a strong background in financial management and reporting.
